In 1914 Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin began building cars after they both decided a year earlier to start selling Singer brand cars. The first car was a 1400 cc racer built on an Isotta Fraschinichassis. The name Aston Martin was created by Lionel Martin’s victory on the “Aston Clinton Hillclimb” near the town of Aston Clinton. The first recorded car was built in 1915 at the workshop on Abingdon Road in Kensington. Ever since, the name gifted the world the most beautiful and fastest cars.
